Ariel Ellis
Detroit born and bred, Ariel Ellis has had life experiences that showed her drastically different sides of the socioeconomic spectrum.

As a black woman working first in journalism and then in film--two male-dominated fields--Ariel came to understand the impact of social differences, empowering her to craft a powerful directorial voice.

She recently directed a year-long documentary project for Dicks Sporting Goods, following a group of Detroit youths who used a boxing gym to mold their futures. Her work for Kingsford on the influence of Black pit masters picked up a Bronze Cannes Lion, her work for The Innocence Project took home a Webby, and her recent Mission Statement film for Audetorium was awarded 4 Telly's, including Gold for directing and a One Show nomination for original score.

Ariel is masterful at drawing out authentic verité moments from non-actors, and she is meticulous in her art direction. Her style is elegant and poetic.
