WCS Hudson Canyon

Partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Society and McKinney, we set out to create three mini documentaries that lived alongside the main campaign activation.

Special ProjectsJune 6, 2001

The goal was simple, raise awareness for WCS’s petition to protect the Hudson Canyon, a massive underwater canyon just 100 miles off the coast of New York City. Each film highlighted a New York restaurant focused on serving the freshest seafood, and how supporting the petition helps protect the very waters that make their work possible.

To take things further, WCS and McKinney launched an outreach effort during World Oceans Month. Partnering with seafood markets across New York and New Jersey, they wrapped fresh catches in custom butcher paper featuring a QR code linking directly to the petition. The campaign brought together the people, restaurants, and communities that depend on the ocean, showing how small actions can make a big difference in protecting one of the Atlantic’s hidden treasures.

Our first video showcased Greenpoint Fish & Lobster and the fish buyer Vinny Milburn.

The second edition featured executive chef of Kerry Hefferman.

The last rendition starred Executive Chef of Lobster Place and Cull & Pistol Oyster Bar David Siegal.
